Registered Massage Therapy
My approach to Massage Therapy is based on current scientific evidence and is informed by the Biopsychosocial (BPS) lens of health care. We know that the body heals itself, so the massage therapists’ role is to create a supportive space and provide touch-based and movement techniques that enhance patients’ healing and recovery. Every body is different and responds to different types of massage, so my job is to work with you to find the treatment that is right for your condition and helps you reach your healthcare goals.
I am trained to use many techniques and approaches including: gentle touch techniques (guided body awareness, cranial sacral, marma points), longer hold techniques (myofascial release, passive stretching), movement techniques (joint mobilizations, shiatsu, passive and active movement), classic massage/ gliding techniques (Swedish, deep tissue, acupressure, Indian Head Massage), hydrotherapy and many more.
To continue the recovery process I often work with patients to design homework or implement changes to daily activities that can support their well-being even after they leave my treatment room. I also believe healthcare is a team sport. So, if I think my patients should be assessed and/or diagnosed by a Physician or physiotherapist or treated my another kind of allied healthcare practitioner, I am always willing to make a recommendation to ensure you get the care you need.

Body Awareness Treatments
I am passionate about increasing body awareness and interoception as a way to improve your relationship with your body to prevent future pain and discomfort. By turning your attention inward to your bodily sensations you have an opportunity to create understanding as well as new relationships and reactions to your physical experience. Many of my clients have experienced reductions in pain and improved function in areas with previous chronic discomfort.
If deepening your relationship with your sensations and held patterns of tension is of interest, I offer sessions geared specifically for this purpose. Rather than a time to space-out and disconnect, they are a time to slow down and ‘zone-in’, bringing awareness to yourself for extended periods of time.
