What is Reiki
Reiki is a wonderful self care resource. It gives you an hour to lie back, do nothing and recover. It refreshes your energy so you feel centred and peaceful. It creates space to realign with yourself and your goals.
Reiki is a gentle energy healing practice that supports relaxation, balance and inner harmony by clearing energetic blockages and restoring natural flow. The name reiki comes from two Japanese words: “rei” meaning spiritual or sacred (commonly translated as “universal”) and “ki” meaning vital force or life energy. Reiki draws on this life-giving power, which is graciously available to all. During a reiki session the practitioner is a vessel for this energy, allowing it to flow into and through the recipient. During a session the practitioner listens intuitively for guidance in using hand motions and visualizations. Reiki is non-invasive, gentle and deeply soothing.

While reiki supports the body’s healing, it is not intended to heal people of physical ailments and is not a replacement for medical care. Likewise with serious mental health issues that require medication or therapy. However, if you are experiencing illness, reiki is wonderful for relieving the emotional stress that accompanies it. To that end, reiki is being offered in a number of hospitals in Canada and the USA. Reiki is a soothing source of support for those in grief, or those who suffer from bouts of depression. “Life Energy” also opens channels for personal and spiritual growth.
What to Expect
Usually, in a reiki session you lie face up, fully dressed (apart from shoes) on a massage table. While gentle music plays you simply lie there and breathe. The reiki does all the work.
You have the option of being touched on your head, shoulders, arms, legs and feet or if you prefer not to be touched, I can hover my hands over you.
You also have the option of using crystals or not. Since everything is made of energy, the crystals help to heighten the effectiveness, but they aren’t a requirement.
You may feel a tingling sensation, heat from my hands or a light pressure where my hands have been. As the session unfolds, you may find yourself falling asleep or lucid dreaming (in which you’re asleep and dreaming, yet still aware of what is happening). You may become teary, depending on what you’re living through and what your body is holding. This is perfectly fine. You are in a safe place. At the end of the session people report feeling very centred and calm.

Spiritual Reflection
From my background as a spiritual teacher, I accompany those who are on a spiritual journey or hoping to grow as a person. This is done through conversation, reflection and spiritual practices. During the hour we listen not only to ourselves, but also for Spirit’s guidance.
Labyrinth
Throughout my spiritual journey, I have been exposed to many practices and many tools that have taken me ever deeper. One of those tools was the Labyrinth. The Labyrinth is a continuous winding path which is walked in quiet contemplation. Because of my own experiences on the Labyrinth, I decided to create one at the top of my property and managed to etch it out on my grass (using vinegar and salt). As part of your time with me, you are welcome to walk the labyrinth.
